This award recognizes service by a young person or group of young people ages 12 to 23 who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to helping others through fundraising efforts and/or volunteering within Abbotsford.
- Funds raised and/or amount of volunteer time
- If part of a group, ability to work as a team player
Provide a letter of reference from the organization or individual or family that benefitted from the funds raised by the nominee or benefitted from the nominee’s volunteer efforts, if possible.
The recipient will receive a framed award certificate and $500 will be donated to the recipient’s charity of choice.
The Abbotsford Community Foundation Community Grants Committee will select the recipient of the Alan & Vivian Trethewey Youth Philanthropy Award. Selection will be based on the information contained in the Nomination Form. The committee may verify the information or seek out additional information if necessary.
All nominees will be encouraged to attend the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on November 15, 2021, at the University of the Fraser Valley – Evered Hall. The Abbotsford Community Foundation will publicly announce the winner at this time.
The Alan & Vivian Trethewey Youth Philanthropy Award nomination form and letter of reference must be submitted online no later than Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
