March 26, 2020 Update

We see and hear the demands the COVID-19 pandemic has placed on the charitable and public health sectors and we can only anticipate the long-term effects it will have on our communities. As a community foundation, we take seriously our responsibility to listen and support community in whatever way we can. To do so safely and effectively, we have made some necessary, temporary changes to our operations and programs below.

For the health and safety of our staff and all visitors the ACF office is closed to the public, except under pre-arranged circumstances.  We will remain operational and will continue to conduct all normal business operations.  We are pleased to connect with you by email, phone or video conferencing.

Our Student Awards Program is continuing.  We are actively reviewing the almost 4000 applications and our donors are making their selections.  We are monitoring how the 2020 school year is progressing and will be ready to announce the recipients in June at graduation.

We have extended the deadline for our Smart & Caring Community Grants program to April 30th to give our charity partners additional time to apply.

We have established an Abbotsford COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund in response to the immediate emergency needs some of the front-line charities require as they assist our most vulnerable citizens.

At this time, we have postponed all events until June 1st and are moving forward with our September 17th Golf Tournament.

In these challenging times, we know that there are many questions around the uncertainty of the economy and the stability of our investments. We want you to know that we are steadfast in our ongoing due diligence regarding our investments and we are following a disciplined process that will allow for us to manage the risks that we all face during these times.

While there is still much uncertainty, ACF has been fortunate to have grown our endowment over the last decade due to your generous giving, our prudent investment management approach and the guidance of the Investment Committee. It is that ongoing discipline that will guide us through this crisis and allow us to continue to be here for you when it counts.
