Donations made to ACF are pooled and invested. Annual earnings are then reinvested into our local community – ensuring your gifts make a lasting impact not just today, but forever.

Donors can create their own endowment fund with us, give to an existing fund, or pledge a gift in will to create a future fund. All gifts, no matter the size, go to work in our community.

Giving Cash Donations

You can make a cash gift online or via cheque to an existing fund, to your own fund, or to support ACF’s work in the community.

Gifts of Securities

You can donate public securities (stocks or bonds) and reduce capital gains taxes. You can get the full value of your securities in a charitable tax receipt while we handle the brokerage & administration.

You can also donate private securities if you’re looking to cash out of a privately owned business. We will need an independent third party evaluation of the securities in order to issue the tax receipt but this type of gift can also reduce capital gains taxes.

Life Insurance Policies

You can designate some or all of the proceeds of a life insurance policy as a legacy gift or transfer a policy to ACF and receive tax receipts for any premiums paid during your lifetime.

RRSP, RRIF, or TFSA

Make ACF a beneficiary of any of these types of funds and receive significant tax benefits.

Gifts of Real Property

We accept land and other property donations and will provide a charitable tax receipt for the full value of the donation. You will need to provide a current market valuation of the property being donated by an independent 3rd party evaluator that meets CRA requirements. Gifts of property made to ACF are sold as soon as feasible. If you are hoping to donate land for conservation purposes, we can partner with a local land trust to help with these types of gifts.

Gifts in Will

You can make a bequest or designate a portion of your estate as a legacy gift and get a charitable tax receipt to offset estate taxes. If you wish to make a number of charitable bequests which may change over time, you can allocate the total amount of your charitable giving in your will to ACF per a fund agreement you have with us. Your fund agreement would allocate all the charities you wish to disburse funds to and the amounts or percentages of the total charitable gift. If you need to change your charitable bequests – for instance add or remove charities or change amounts – you can do so in your fund agreement with ACF at no cost, without needing to make costly changes to your will.
