The City of Abbotsford established the Agricultural Enhancement Grants Program with the Abbotsford Community Foundation (ACF) for the purpose of supporting the agricultural industry in Abbotsford.
The overall purpose of the program is to:
- Encourage agricultural innovation
- Increase agricultural productivity
- Build capacity in the agriculture sector
- Promote sustainable agricultural practices
2024 Agricultural Grants
This year’s Agricultural Enhancement Grants Program opens Monday January 22, 2024.
The overall purpose of this granting program is to:
- Encourage agricultural innovation
- Increase agricultural productivity
- Build capacity in the agriculture sector
- Promote sustainable agricultural practices
This year’s theme is once again focused on agricultural innovation, specifically as is related to any or all of the following:
- Product development
- Value added agricultural innovations
- Solutions for product-to-market supply chains
- Entrepreneurial farm practices to enhance market growth
- Agri-Tourism – farm to table and/or Agri Education initiatives
- Diversification of farming operations
- Regulatory compliances
- Climate change adaptation/mitigation
This is a matching grant of up to $50,000. Projects must be in Abbotsford and be of benefit to the Abbotsford agricultural industry in some way.
Letters of Intent are due March 25 by 4 pm. If your project has been selected for the next round of adjudication, your final grant application is due April 15.
How to apply? Send your Letter of Intent via email to arenik@abbotsfordcf.org. Letters of Intent must include the following:
- Names & Contact Information (email, phone, mailing address) of grant proponent and partners
- Project Name & Outline/Description (200 words or less)
- Explain How the Project Fits the Theme of Agricultural Innovation (200 words or less)
- Explain How the Project Will Benefit the Abbotsford Agricultural Industry (100 words or less)
- Proposed Budget Including Where Matching Funding Will Come From
Those who submit Letters of Intent by the due date will be contacted to let them know if they have been selected for the final round and will be sent an online grant application to complete and submit by April 15 at 4 pm. Late submissions will not be considered.
