The 2026 Student Awards application is now closed.
STEP 1 – ELIGIBILITY
Before beginning the application process it’s important to ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements. To be eligible, you must also be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident with a Canadian Social Insurance Number and be graduating from any of the following schools:
- Abbotsford Senior Secondary
- Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts (ASIA)
- Abbotsford Traditional
- Abbotsford Virtual
- Bakerview Centre for Learning
- Mennonite Educational Institute (MEI)
- Rick Hansen Secondary
- Robert Bateman Secondary
- W.J. Mouat Secondary
- Yale Secondary
STEP 2 – REVIEW AWARDS
Before starting the application process, it’s essential to review the list of available awards so you know which ones you’d like to apply for. You can apply for up to 10 awards in your application. You can find a complete description of the student awards by clicking the button below, or going to the Student Awards tab on the ACF website and selecting the Student Awards Directory button. While looking at the description of each award, confirm if the award is available for your school and if there are any special criteria.
STEP 3 – STUDENT APPLICATION FORM
Please complete the Student Application Form. Information such as name, school, address, post-secondary education plans, parent information, community and volunteer activities, extracurricular activities, and any special criteria will be required. Once you have completed this form, a new screen will appear with a link to print your PDF application. Please print the PDF package. You will need to check off the awards you are applying for on the checklist (you are allowed to apply for up to 10 awards with your application). Then gather all the required signatures (yours, parent(s)/guardian(s)- if you are under the age of 18) and move to step 4.
STEP 4 – SPECIAL CRITERIA
Before you submit your application, please double check to see if there is any special criteria for the awards you have chosen to apply for. Special criteria may include membership to an organization or a specific reference letter. If one or more of the awards you are applying to has special criteria, please ensure you include any relevant documentation with your application. Also, please review the sections highlighted in yellow in the awards directory to ensure you meet the eligibility requirements of that award.
STEP 5 – SUBMIT
Now that you have completed all of the forms, gather all of your documents in order to submit your complete application package to your school counsellor BEFORE February 27 @ 3:00 pm. Please ensure you have printed a completed copy of each of the following documents:
- Student Awards Application Form signed by you and your parent(s) if necessary
- Any other documents required for awards with special criteria
- Awards checklist with awards checked off that you wish to apply for (you can check off up to 10 awards)
- Copy of your transcript (provided by school)
Your complete student award application with all documents must be provided to your school counsellor by 3 pm on Friday, February 27, 2026. Award recipients will be notified at your convocation in June. If you have any questions about the application package, please contact your school counsellor directly.
