This funding is for a new Living 4 change program that assists individuals who are/were homeless and are now receiving wrap around supports. Participants will be connected to an employer/business for approximately two 2-hour shifts per week for teaching, mentoring and maybe provide a longer term job opportunity. The participant will learn new skills, make healthy connections in the community and ultimately attain economic and social inclusion. After 3 months the employer will take over the payroll.
Dedicated staff time specifically for placing homeless clients with multiple barriers into housing including a preparing to be housed peer training component. This training involves a variety of topics and prepares the person to be housed by ensuring they have adequate ID, financial resources, appearances and understand what is expected of them when they live inside. This helps them to ready to secure housing as many do not understand the responsibilities of being housed.
