2020 Grant Criteria

The committee chose to focus on innovation with a preference to supporting new technologies in agriculture that demonstrate an environmental and sustainability component.

Specifically, we invited projects that have a technology focus or projects that will help develop this technology further through research in the following areas:

  • Marketing or promoting a new technology that addresses an environmental challenge to processors or producers in a specific sector of agriculture;
  • Developing and testing a new user-friendly technology where the resulting research can be shared in one or more agriculture sectors and assist the industry to comply with ever changing regulatory requirements.

2019 Program

The 2019 Agricultural Enhancement grants committee is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 Agriculture Enhancement grants and a complete list of the successful projects can accessed at this link:  Grants-Summary-2019

The Agricultural Enhancement Grants project focus for 2019 was the revitalization of unused or under-utilized land in the ALR located within the Abbotsford area with an environmental and sustainability objective to create more usable and productive farmland.  Specifically, innovative practices to increase both the capacity and productivity in the use of the ALR land for food production.  The three successful projects that were approved for funding fit this criteria and we will be providing a video overview of each project in the next several weeks.  Thank you to all that applied.  Please check back here in January 2020 when a new round of granting will commence.
