Agricultural Grants

Our Agricultural Enhancement Grants are offered in partnership with the City of Abbotsford for the purpose of supporting local agriculture. In 2026, there are 2 funding streams – 1 for up to $100K for the spring; and 1 for up to $50K for the fall. We would like to support sector wide initiatives as well as farmers, agricultural processors, entrepreneurs & researchers.

Agricultural Enhancement Grants

In 2011, the City of Abbotsford established the Agricultural Enhancement Grants Program Fund with the Abbotsford Community Foundation (ACF) to support a thriving local agricultural industry. The overall purpose of the program is to:

In 2026, we will be launching 2 granting streams to support different types of projects to support Abbotsford’s agricultural industry. Funding available is specific to the type of project funded.

The first stream will open on Feb 18 for projects that support a sector wide initiative (such as the greenhouse, dairy, flower, or berry industry). It closes on March 31 @ 4 pm (PST). This stream is open to agriculture associations, research institutions, & other non profit organizations whose purpose fits with this stream’s objectives (see below) and for work that is intended to happen in Abbotsford. The online application will become available when the grant opens. Please check out the granting guidelines to help with your application.

The second stream will open in October for projects specific to local farms & food processing facilities located in Abbotsford and closes at the end of November. This stream is open farmers, producers, or processors located in Abbotsford, for projects that fit with this stream’s objectives (see below) and ensures that a research partner will allow for the sharing of project knowledge freely. Application and granting guidelines will be available when this stream opens in the fall.

If your organization, farm, or research institution hasn’t reported on a past grant with ACF (with the exception of an Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund grant), you are NOT eligible to apply for an Agricultural Enhancement Grant. Outstanding reports are due by January 31, 2026 to qualify for Stream #1 this year and by September 15, 2026 to qualify for Stream #2.
