Student Awards

Abbotsford Community Foundation’s Student Award Program is one of the largest of its kind in the Fraser Valley, making it possible for local Abbotsford high school grads to pursue studies in everything from STEM fields to trades, the arts, agriculture, manufacturing, vocational careers and so much more.

Anyone can set up an award – individuals, families, service clubs, local charities and non-profits, businesses, or groups that come together and care about creating opportunities for young people in our community. Donors can choose to create an endowment – either through a living gift or gift in will – where their money is invested permanently with the Foundation and the income earned can fund their award for always. Or they can choose to fund a student award for a minimum of 3 consecutive years, making a gift each year their award is offered. All gifts made to the Foundation receive a charitable tax receipt.

Our Student Award Makers often appreciate reviewing student applications for their awards and offer recommendations on recipients, as well as having the option to present their award at convocations each year. While not necessary, many donors find it meaningful to get to know the young people they’re helping to pursue their post-secondary aspirations.
