2020 Smart & Caring Community Grants
The 2020 community grants program is open up for applications from February 17, 2020 to April 30, 2020. Due to the unprecedented circumstances around the COVID-19 pandemic, the ACF has extended the application deadline to April 30th. We want to do everything we can to help our charity partners access the Smart & Caring community grants to help our community. Please ensure that you carefully read the 2020 Smart & Caring Grant Guidelines prior to completing the 2020 ACF Smart & Caring Community Grants Application Form.
The 2020 Smart & Caring Community grants invites all registered charities delivering their programs in Abbotsford that address a need for children and families at risk in our community.
The 5th Annual Smart & Caring Golf Classic will be held on September 17th at the Chilliwack Golf Club. The funds raised at this tournament are added to the Smart & Caring Endowment Fund and our charity partners directly benefit from this fundraiser. 2019 Smart and Caring Community Grants Program
The Community Grants committee of the Abbotsford Community Foundation (ACF) is pleased to announce the 2019 Smart & Caring Community Grants recipients. We received a record number of applications and 15 charities have been awarded $90,000 in grants for their programs that help children and families at risk in our community.

2018 Smart and Caring Community Grants Program
The Abbotsford Community Foundation (ACF) is pleased to confirm the recipients of the 2018 Smart and Caring Community Grants. A total of $87,980 has been granted to sixteen local charities, increasing care and support across a broad spectrum of organizations supporting children and families at risk in our community.
On May 17, 2018, ACF Community Grants Committee Chair, Andrea Senft presented the grant checks to the charity representatives at a reception held at the School Board office. Each representative shared the details of how this funding will benefit children at risk in our community and provided details of their specific programs targeted to children and families. The Smart and Caring Community Fund has provided numerous local charities over $404,000 in grants since 2014.
The annual Smart and Caring Golf Classic is held each year on the third Thursday of September at Ledgeview Golf Course for the purpose of raising funds that will be contributed permanently to the capital of the Smart and Caring Community fund, which in turn will benefit charities in Abbotsford in perpetuity.

2017 Smart and Caring Grants Program
On May 19th, 2017, Grants committee chair, Andrea Senft presented nine charities with funding totaling $82,500 to support their respective programs that provide services to children in our community.
With this 2017 funding, ACF has awarded a total of $314,000 for Smart and Caring community grants over the past four years. To learn more about the projects we funded in 2017, please view the 2017 Summary.
Our goal for our Smart and Caring initiative is to have granted over $300,000 to programs supporting children by the end of 2017 to commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday. Supporting children is the best way we can support our community’s next 150 years. We are pleased to announce that we have achieved this goal!
