Discover Uncharitable: A Documentary That Challenges Your Perspective on Giving
5 February 2025News & Announcements
Have you ever stopped to question how we think about charity? Are traditional views on philanthropy holding us back from achieving true societal change? On February 13th, join us at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium for a screening of Uncharitable, a film that promises to inspire, challenge, and shift your perspective on the nonprofit sector.
ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY
Uncharitable is based on Dan Pallotta’s groundbreaking TED Talk, “The Way We Think About Charity Is Dead Wrong,” which has been viewed millions of times worldwide. Pallotta’s message is clear: outdated views on charity—from limiting administrative costs to undervaluing innovation—are holding nonprofits back from achieving their missions. This documentary dives deeper into these concepts, exposing the barriers faced by charitable organizations and calling for a revolutionary shift in how we support and empower them.
Provocative, insightful, and inspiring, Uncharitable is a must-watch for anyone involved in the nonprofit sector—from donors and volunteers to nonprofit leaders and those impacted by their work. In other words, it’s a film for all of us.
Whether you work in the nonprofit sector, support local charities, or are simply curious about the evolving world of philanthropy, this event is sure to leave you inspired and motivated to think differently about giving.
